He definitely knows what he is talking about. Really smart people know how to explain difficult concepts in a way that is easy for the "common" person to follow. I had trouble understanding abstract topics that he clarified for me which saved me a lot of time from Googling. He is also very patient even when I didn't understand multiple times.
