Online Spanish native speaker co tutor, PhD with vast experience

I am a native speaker of Spanish. Have a BA, MA and PhD in Spanish Language and Medieval Peninsular Literature. I have been teaching for over 30 years. I am currently teaching in college and love it. I have the patience and knowledge to understand what requires to learn a new language and acknowledge that everyone learns in a different way and at a different pace. In all of my years of teaching, I have become aware that my students are my primary source of information. So, my pedagogy is fundamentally the same but it has to always adjust to the learning needs of my students. I like to apply structured grammar lessons, visuals, and use platforms such as Quizlet to make classes more engaging and entertaining without the students even realizing how much they are learning. I also like to integrate videos from different countries to illustrate the cultural aspect of the Spanish language. I am a native of Panama City, Panama, so I love to use my own country as well as many others including Spain. My students learn to comment on gastronomy, indigenous cultures, music, traditions, celebrations, etc. I have been teaching online for several years undergraduates. I also taught graduate courses for Teachers of Spanish, I designed myself. I learned to use different components to make my courses more interactive and conversational. I like my students to work in a comfortable environment where they know mistakes are allow and expected as part of the learning process. Reducing the level of anxiety in my classrooms is an important part of my teaching philosophy. I believe that anyone who desires to learn a new language will successfully learn it.
