Hello! I am a licensed Social Studies teacher from the Somerville, MA area - I graduated in 2024 from Northeastern University with my Master's Degree in Secondary Education, specialized for history. My previous education experience was at MassArt, where I double majored in Painting and Art History. I have experience teaching High School aged students Post-WWII/Cold War history through multiple perspectives, as well as Ancient Civilizations for Middle School aged students. I have been teaching for 2 years in a classroom setting, typically with about 15-24 students, as well as one on one experience in tutoring sessions. I employ interactive questioning, metaphors, memory devices, Vygotsky's zone of proximal development, and multimedia learning using a facilitation style of teaching - my preference is for my students to self-learn with myself acting as a coach, rather than lecturing. However, I am experienced in differentiation, as not every style of teaching or learning fits all students. I often modify materials for my students as needed, and have experience working with English Learners, as well as students on IEPs and 504s.
