Hi I am Amalia! I recently received my Bachelor of Science from Tufts University, graduating summa cum laude with a major in Cognitive Brain Science while on the pre-med track. Before college, I attended The Bronx High School of Science, ending in the top five percent of my class.

As a logically minded student, I view science systematically. This type of thinking has proven to be valuable in STEM tutoring, where I am able break down complex topics. By combining my pre-med background in biology, chemistry, and physics, with my major requirements in neuroscience, psychology, computer science and philosophy, my unique insights foster deeper understandings. This results in knowledge that stays with you longer than just one school unit.

Growing up in an English/Art centered household, I am no stranger to explaining science topics to more literary/creative thinkers. Each student has their own learning process, and I quickly adapt to each person’s needs. At Tufts, I was selected to serve as a Writing Fellow with the Tufts academic StARR Center. For three years, I tutored writing ranging from engineering research reports to creative writing.

Learning is not easy... it is just like exercising any other muscle. But, in the right environment, learning can be rewarding and sometimes even fun! I am patient, passionate, and love all types of students. As a dyslexic student, I understand how learning can be frustrating. Please send me a message if you have any questions!
