With over 17 years of experience in education, I bring a deep passion for fostering academic growth and confidence in students. I hold a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Brown University, providing me with a solid foundation in educational practices. My certification spans Grades 1-8, with extensive training in literacy, especially for Multilingual Learners (MLLs).
My career includes teaching diverse learners, including those with disabilities and language differences, in both urban settings and the highest-performing suburban public school system in Rhode Island. I have also served as an instructional coach, mentoring novice and in-service teachers, and developing effective teaching strategies. This experience has taught me the importance of personalized learning to meet each student's unique needs.
I understand that every student can benefit from a supportive, engaging learning environment. My tutoring approach is warm, student-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I use hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and technology-enhanced tools to make learning enjoyable and effective. Whether building foundational skills with young children or enhancing older students' academic performance, I aim to inspire a love for learning and empower students to reach their full potential.
Currently, I am also a Summer Mentor teacher with the Rhode Island School for Progressive Education, guiding future educators in developing learner-centered strategies. I am committed to educational excellence and equity, and I look forward to helping your child succeed.
