I have 14 years of teaching experience working with students in grades K–8. For the first several years of my career, I served as a classroom teacher supporting a wide range of learners in ELA. For the past nine years, I have worked as a Reading Specialist, providing targeted literacy instruction and intervention to students with diverse learning needs, including those with dyslexia and other reading.
My instruction is rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach, which emphasizes explicit, systematic, and multisensory teaching methods. I tailor lessons to meet each student’s individual learning profile, incorporating phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in a structured and engaging way. I believe in creating a supportive, confidence-building environment where students feel empowered to take risks, celebrate growth, and develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.
