I hold a Ph.D. in Fluid and Thermal Science from Brown University and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, also from Brown. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering, where my work combines mechanical engineering, robotics-adjacent modeling, machine learning, and Earth data science to study complex physical systems. This gives me strong, hands-on expertise in calculus, physics, statistics, mechanical engineering, programming (Python and MATLAB), and applied machine learning and AI.
Since 2022, I have taught and mentored students in both classroom and small-group settings. As a Lecturer with the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM), I led STEM research camps for high school students, guiding them through robotics, machine learning, and Earth data science projects using real satellite datasets in MATLAB and Python. At Brown University, I served as a graduate teaching assistant for both a graduate-level fluid mechanics course and an undergraduate oceanography course, where I led discussions, held regular office hours, and provided one-on-one programming support to help students work through difficult technical material at their own pace.
My teaching approach is hands-on and project-based: I like to connect abstract math and engineering concepts to real, tangible problems, whether that's a robotics project, a coding assignment, or a physics problem set. I've worked with students ranging from high schoolers with no prior programming experience to graduate students tackling advanced engineering coursework, and I tailor my explanations and pace to each student's background and goals. I'm excited to bring this same approach to tutoring on Wyzant, particularly in math, physics, mechanical engineering, statistics, robotics, and AI/ML.
