Hi there, everyone!
My name is Jamie O; if I may lean into my headline a little bit, I am an experienced drummer with a great affinity for teaching, and I'd like to share more about myself with you. :-)
First and foremost, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and with a minor in education from Salem State University in 2020. I also hold a certification in music technology, so I understand the more technological side of the field as well. I have experience teaching in both the classroom and individual capacities for 11 years, and to this extent, I am proficient in creating lesson plans for various audiences.
Also, in an extracurricular sense, I founded the Malden High School Jazz band, and played for several musical ensembles, such as marching band, world music ensemble, and jazz ensemble. Over the course of 14 years of accumulated drumming experience, I have worked extensively with music theory, maintained comfortable working practice with percussion instruments from both eastern and western cultures, and played recreationally for various artists and bands.
Through my numerous experiences, I have become wholly satisfied with the knowledge I've gained, and it would feel so meaningful to be able to share my knowledge with others who are looking to nurture their enthusiasm just the same.
