Hello, I'm Delaney! I graduated from Roger Williams University with a degree in elementary education and have 7 years of experience teaching in an elementary classroom. I have taught kindergarten and 3rd grade, but most of my time was spent in 2nd grade. I also personally have tutored students before and after school, giving me the chance to provide extra support to students who need it the most.
I am extremely passionate about making learning fun and engaging. Education should not be about just going through the motions to complete an assignment or memorize answers for a test. It needs to be exciting and spark curiosity. That is why I always try to stay updated on the current best practices in education and try to incorporate them into structured games and activities. That way, the students can learn and grow without feeling like they are doing schoolwork. Keeping the lessons interactive and fun allows me to help the students develop a positive relationship with learning that extends beyond the classroom.
My tutoring philosophy centers on meeting the student where they are and working with them to find ways to make learning meaningful and effective. I am confident in my abilities to help build students' confidence while reinforcing skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. I want students to feel empowered and excited about their progress, and I'm dedicated to creating a safe and engaging space where they can do just that.
