I enjoy teaching students on a one-to-one basis and getting to know them as people and their learning styles. I was awarded a Plymouth County Education Association Honor Award, for my work outside the classroom. As a special education teacher for over thirty years, I have used numerous modifications and utilized traditional and non-traditional methods to increase learning capacity.
I have taught all four major subject areas, math, science, social studies, and English. Teaching study skills was part of my responsibilities. I have worked in project READ, teaching basic reading skills, Project Apple, a gifted program, and have instructed a small class MCAS math group. My lesson objective would be for each student to successfully complete the lesson at his or her own pace and style, in a positive learning atmosphere.
I have a twenty-four hour cancellation policy and a fairly flexible schedule. I would prefer to tutor in the local library, if at all possible. Though I would make exceptions if this were inconvenient.
I look forward to hearing from you and aiding you in your pursuit of academic success.
