I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and am licensed to teach Elementary (1–6). I am LETRS-trained and have completed extensive professional development in the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy instruction. While I have a strong background in literacy, I also specialize in mathematics instruction and intervention. My training and classroom experience allow me to support students across subjects using explicit, research-based teaching practices that build deep understanding and confidence.
I have over four years of experience as a second-grade classroom teacher in a public elementary school, where I provide differentiated instruction in both ELA and math to meet diverse academic needs. My teaching approach emphasizes clear modeling, step-by-step scaffolding, and hands-on strategies that make complex concepts accessible. In math, I focus on building strong number sense, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding, ensuring students don’t just memorize procedures but truly understand the “why” behind the math.
In addition to my classroom role, I currently provide private tutoring for students in grades 1–8, working with a range of ability levels from foundational skills to upper-level math concepts. I am presently tutoring three students in advanced upper-grade mathematics, along with supporting younger students in building core skills. My experience includes whole-class teaching, small-group instruction, and one-on-one tutoring after school. I am passionate about creating a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel confident tackling challenges and developing independence in both math and literacy.
