Hey there! I hope you’re doing well. I’m Mike, and I’ve dedicated over 24 years to teaching History and Political Science. Throughout my career, I’ve taken on various roles, including full-time and part-time teaching positions, tutoring, and serving as a teaching assistant in both public and private schools across the United States and abroad. My fascination with history has spanned more than 40 years, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History, along with a Master’s in Education with a focus on History, plus extensive coursework beyond my formal education. I also possess a teaching license from the state of Massachusetts. My experience encompasses reading, teaching, and writing about history from diverse eras and regions, with particular expertise in American, European, and Ancient history, especially military history. In fact, I’ve even authored a book on military history that delves into the European theater during World War II.

In my classes, I focus on showing students that history is woven into the fabric of our everyday experiences, rather than just a collection of names, places, and dates. I strive to create an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere, making the learning process feel relaxed and approachable. My goal is to spark curiosity and excitement about the past.

So, as I continue to teach, I hope to instill in my students a sense of curiosity about our shared history. By doing so, I believe they will be better equipped to navigate the complexities of the world around them and appreciate the lessons that history has to offer.
