Great tutor
Michelle, 1 lesson with FernandoI worked with Fernando for a short time, and had to stop taking classes only because I got a new job that took up my free time. Fernando brings a structure and teaching style to his classes, which is great for beginners. He uses all aspects of the language when he teaches, including listening, speaking, writing, and reading. He had me write my own stories in between class and then we corrected them together - which was very helpful.
I am offering one on one classes or courses. Individuals or groups are welcome.
I am a certified teacher who have been teaching all levels of Spanish (elementary, secondary, and college levels ) as well as professionals for 14 years. I also ran a Spanish volunteer program at the Public Library open to the public for a few years. As a teacher of Spanish, I have an excellent command of the Spanish and the cultural aspect of the language. I grew up and lived in Argentina for the majority of my...

Absolutely an amazing experience!
I feel very fortunate to have found Fernando as a Spanish teacher. After a couple years of studying on and off by myself, I felt like a perpetual beginner who could only manage a very basic conversation. It only took one lesson with Fernando to feel confident enough to attempt a more complex conversation with a native speaker (which I did that very night via WhatsApp y ahora yo tengo un novio cubano... But that is another story). What impressed me most about my lessons with Fernando was how quickly he adjusted to my unusual learning style. Initially he said our first lesson would be the only time we spoke extensively in English. I told him outright that learning by immersion does NOT work for me (I tried it in Chile when I was first learning Spanish, and all it did for me was cause anxiety). Fernando and I speak constantly in Spanish, but his ability to explain in English the nuances of Spanish grammar is invaluable to me, and it works well with the way I learn. I am entirely fascinated with grammar, and being able to have a conversation and ask questions about it has noticeably propelled my Spanish skills. Concepts that I previously found difficult to understand (such as the use of direct and indirect object pronouns) I learned with ease AND within minutes during my lessons with Fernando. After the frustration of buying at least 8 Spanish books and being unable to find anything that remotely complemented my learning style, studying with Fernando has been a huge relief. During our lessons, Spanish has gone from being difficult and confusing to easy and understandable. I definitely should have done this sooner. Additionally, the lessons are enjoyable, and the time just seems to pass so fast. Honestly, I don't think I would get bored if the lesson lasted 8 hours. If you are like me and have endless questions, or if you simply want to advance in Spanish rapidly with ease, I believe studying with Fernando is the perfect option.
