I have been involved in Special Education for over 10 years, first at the paraprofessional level and now as a Special Education teacher at a vocational/tech school in New England. I am passionate about helping students further their academic horizons and thoroughly enjoy making content accessible for folks who have struggled with school in the past. I have worked in multiple different settings in education, teaching a variety of different populations of students.
I have a strong belief in building a strong rapport with my students, as in the end, teaching and being a student are both human endeavors. With that said, I believe that all students can flourish when presented with the tools to become successful. Differentiated instruction, study skills and strategies, executive functioning skills, pre-teaching vocabulary and supporting the expansion of your vocabulary are just some of the techniques that I have employed and continue to utilize in my teaching practice.
