Hello, I'm Jonathan! I graduated magna cum laude in 2019 from Saint Michael's College in Vermont, where I majored in both English and Philosophy. As a student at a small liberal arts school, I gained a deep appreciation for both one-on-one and small group interactions when it came to an academic environment. I found that the most conducive style of learning for me took the form of in-depth, discussion based classrooms and individual meetings with my professors, and I strive to emulate that environment during my tutoring. During my sophomore year, I began working for the school as a peer tutor in the Philosophy department, where I met and worked with both individual students as well as small groups of around 4 to 5. My main role was to assist students with their day-to-day coursework, which mostly involved reading comprehension and test prep. This also often took the form of proofreading and editing of class papers, which allowed me to put my knowledge as an English student to the test. Researching, structuring, and writing a paper can be a daunting task, and my goal was always to help break down the process into a format that allowed the student to write to the best of their ability.

As an English and Philosophy student, critical reading, writing, and thinking were crucial to my curriculum, and as such I developed a number of strategies for getting the most out of my school work. Sharing these strategies with my peers was always a great joy for me, and seeing the light go off in a student's eyes when they finally understand a passage that they've been struggling with or finally finish writing the paper that's been haunting them is truly a special feeling.

At Saint Michael's College, I graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into both the Phi Beta Kappa and Delta Epsilon Sigma honors chapters at the school. I received departmental honors in Philosophy, and conducted a summer long research project for the English department on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien between May and August of 2018. All of t
