I grew up knowing I wanted to be a writer. I began writing short stories as young as nine, and wrote my first full length novel at sixteen. Writing is my passion and I hope to inspire young writers to follow their dreams.
I previously taught summer camp and after-school classes for ages 5-12 (in various age groups and group sizes). I introduced scientific concepts through experiments, as well as promoted creative expression through art projects.
As a college student I was a traditional summer camp counselor where we explored various subjects such as nature, art, film and physical education like yoga and swimming.
I take learning seriously, but I take a more casual approach compared to a traditional classroom setting. When I don't know an answer to a question, there's no shame in Googling it together! When we make mistakes, we laugh and we learn from it!
I have a Bachelors degree in Creative Writing with minors in Professional/Public Writing and Educational Studies. I have written hundreds of essays ranging from critical analyses to longform opinion pieces. I have read dozens of books ranging from young adult fiction to 1800's literature. I have written dozens of short stories, some of which have been lost to time, and some that I am currently working on! From all this writing and reading, I have grown an eye for detail, an understanding of grammar and structure, and a great love for the art of the written word.
