I have been a teacher for 13 years. I spent ten of those years in Virginia where I taught second grade, fourth grade, and Kindergarten. During those years I tutored Kindergarten and second grade students in math and reading in small group settings. I also worked one on one with several first graders. After moving back to Massachusetts, I taught first grade for a year, a multi-grade second and third grade class and am currently teaching 6th grade.

Throughout my teaching career I have taught students of varying abilities using a variety of methods to best suit my students' needs. I have taught all core subject areas and frequently incorporate technology into my classroom.
I understand the skills students need and meet them where they're at. I work with the student to find the most effective way to understanding concepts and how they can best go through the process. I incorporate real world learning.
I have utilized a variety of reading and writing programs. I use games and high interest activities for students. I strive to find high interest texts at appropriate levels for students.
