I have spent my career in education and bring a strong background in elementary education, special education, reading, and language and literacy. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Providence College in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also hold a Master of Science in Reading from the College of St. Rose and an Ed.S. in Language and Literacy from Simmons College. In addition, I attended the Literacy Leadership Academy at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and am Wilson certified.

I have 26 years of teaching experience and currently serve as the principal of a PreK–8 school. My experience includes classroom teaching, small-group instruction, and one-on-one support for students across elementary and middle school grade levels. I have worked with students with a wide range of learning styles, academic needs, and confidence levels, including students who require specialized instruction and reading intervention.

My approach is supportive, structured, and student-centered. I believe students learn best when they feel understood, encouraged, and appropriately challenged. I use clear modeling, guided practice, repetition, targeted feedback, and evidence-based literacy strategies to help students build both skills and confidence. My background in reading, special education, and structured literacy allows me to identify where students may be struggling and break concepts down in a way that makes sense to them.

In both my teaching and leadership roles, I have supported students, families, and teachers through curriculum, assessment, intervention, and differentiated instruction. I especially enjoy helping students recognize their own growth and develop the confidence to keep trying, even when learning feels difficult.
