I am a passionate and dedicated Korean language tutor with years of experience and a deep commitment to helping students succeed. As a native speaker, I offer accurate pronunciation and correct grammar, ensuring you learn standard Korean the right way. I believe language and culture are closely linked; therefore I will not only teach you Korean, but I will also help students to understand Korean culture so that you have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the language.
As born and raised in Seoul, I speak the standard Korean dialect, free of regional accents. This is especially important as Korea has diverse dialects—my background ensures you learn accurate and authentic Korean.
I earned a B.S. degree at the University of California, Davis, and am currently working towards getting a Master's degree. I have much experience teaching Korean in various settings such as Korean Schools, one-on-one tutoring, and companies/organizations working with students ranging from young children to adults. Alongside teaching, I also work as a freelance Korean translator and interpreter. I have translated and interpreted for a wide range of professional settings, including medical, Social work, Parent-School meetings, business meetings, and court proceedings. This real-world experience allows me to bring practical, authentic language usage into the classroom, helping students learn how Korean is truly used beyond textbooks. My goal is always to create a warm, encouraging space where students feel confident learning, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
