John R.

John is a 25 year old accounting/ tax tutor that grew up in Portsmouth, RI. He completed his undergraduate degree in accounting at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. Additionally John received his MSA from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN with concentrations in both taxation and data analytics. While at Notre Dame John worked for Academic Services for Student Athletes (ASSA) as an accounting, finance, and economics tutor. John worked with many different student athletes across a wide array of classes. John also had additional tutoring experience through the Varsity Tutors platform. He has worked there for close to a year and has helped many students (undergrad, graduate, and adult) achieve academic success in many different accounting classes and on various sections of the CPA exams. Specifically on the REG and FAR sections of the exam.

John is a CPA in Massachusetts and currently works full time in Big 4 public accounting as an international tax associate. As an experienced tutor, John is a big believer in helping students understanding difficult concepts by first understanding helping them understand the theory behind each topic. One he does this is by using real world examples to put topics into a more relevant context for students. John also enjoys keeping sessions entertaining and engaging through his lighthearted nature.
