I have over 12+ years of experience as an educator (1-on-1 tutoring & classroom setting), hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, and am an award-winning former research scientist & published author. My expertise is in the following areas (ages 6-12): critical reading comprehension, reading fluency, writing & grammar, receptive/expressive/pragmatic language, executive functioning, social-emotional skills, and critical thinking. I am also passionate about teaching Science, World History, and Geography if your child need support in these areas. I love working with students of all backgrounds and have extensive experience working with neurodivergent students with unique learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, language delays/disorders, and reading struggles. My passion is to help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By working with me, your child will gradually (1) overcome their academic and social-emotional challenges, (2) gain confidence in their unique abilities, (3) develop a success profile that will help set them apart, and (3) develop critical thinking skills which is becoming increasingly necessary in our age of information overload. My style is to make sessions fun, interactive, and relatable to my students for best results. I hope to meet and support your child soon!

Great teacher

Can’t say enough good things about Isabella. She is experienced and knowledgeable. She quickly and accurately identifies areas that my child is having problems and sets up each class to work on it. Her feedback is immediate, detailed and organized. She is patient and engaging with my child. I highly recommend her. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Knowledgable and patient tutor

Isabelle has been working with my six-year-old son since January. When my son began his sessions, he was frustrated and hated anything to do with reading. Now he brings me books so he can read to me. Isabelle provides unique, creative, and highly effective age- and level-appropriate activities. ZOOM is often not easy for kids, but she creates lessons tailored to the child's needs. I also appreciate that Isabelle submits a review of the lessons learned after each session. I find this helpful for me to keep up with the progress my son is making. I know that the lessons he is learning with Isabelle will continue to help him help strengthen his reading skills. I have nothing but kind words to say about our experience with Isabelle.

Isabelle is absolutely the best tutor ever

We love Isabelle. She customizes each class for my child according to the needs and the areas my child wants to work on. She provides feedback after each session and she is super patient. Best tutor ever!

Amazing instruction!

Isabelle helped my 10 year old with how to construct an essay. She is organized, thorough, patient and the perfect tutor. She sent him an essay question to email back to her prior to their first meeting so she could properly prepare and she delivered. He really learned quite a lot in that 1 hour already. She then gave him homework and sent prompts in essay writing to learn from and aid him in his writing. Can't wait for more lessons with her.

A hidden gem

We feel so luck to have found Isabelle on Wyzant on the first try. She immediately responded to our request to set up a lesson and was able to squeeze us into her busy schedule. My son is a reluctant reader and writer. Hence, he was not keen on starting tutoring. He is also a bit shy and slow to warm up on the first encounter. I informed Isabelle of his temperament before their first lesson, and she incorporated this knowledge to make him feel at ease with warm up exercises. She was able to connect with him quickly. Isabelle is warm, encouraging, and patient. She was able to quickly assess what my son had difficulty with and came up with a clear and organized plan on how to tailor her lessons to his needs. She kept me informed of her lesson plans and her rationale behind her approach. I really appreciated her openness to my feedback and her willingness to collaborate with me. Isabelle is very clear in her communication and her teaching style. My son had learned various methods of writing a 5-paragraph essay using the 4 square method, the hamburger/sandwich method, and the like with other teachers. It never really made sense to him until Isabelle taught him how to use the graphic organizer. The way she explained things intuitively made sense for him. My son who struggled to write down his thoughts and often sat in front of a blank paper feeling enormously frustrated with himself, finally started to feel confident in his ability to present his thoughts in an organized manner. He has made great progress in a short period of time and looks forward to his lessons with Isabelle.

Knowledgeable, great and patient tutor!

Isabelle did an outstanding job adjusting her teaching to meet our daughter Sasha's learning style. She's been so great and patient with Sasha and with us as parents trying to have her learn this way for the first time. Isabelle is very knowledgeable and gave us and Sasha great tips for studying. She is also very patient and makes sure that Sasha understands a concept before moving on. We are really impressed with Isabelle. English is not the native language of our daughter, but she understands the concept of English and has been writing difficult essays and reading non-fiction books in English. Her cursive writing has significantly improved this year and we couldn't be happier with how Isabelle is teaching her English. Sasha has also learned much better study habits and organizational skills under Isabelle. We would strongly recommend Isabelle to other parents. She is great!

Big fans here!

My 6 year old son and I love Isabelle! We were told by his teacher that he was behind in ELA and Isabelle has already made him feel more confident after two lessons. She is patient, knowledgeable, and keeps him engaged! He actually seems excited when it’s his time to see her even after a day of school/zoom meetings!

Knowledgeable, patient, and effective

Isabelle is a rare find. My son has auditory processing differences as well as speech delays. Isabelle worked tirelessly with my son (and me), offering relevant and practical lessons that made his learning effective. My son progressed by leaps and bounds with Isabelle's help! I can not say enough good things about our experience working with her.
