I am a professional PhD statistician with experience in statistical programming. I have been working in the field of biostatistics since 2006. Personally I strongly prefer using SAS in biostatistics as it is most suitable for production work in a regulated industry, but I can teach programming in R as well, as I see it is becoming a new fashion in clinical trials.

I have tutored Biostatistics ever since I started on Wyzant in 2017. But, because Biostatistics was not listed as a subject on Wyzant back then and has only been added relatively recently, I had to list my tutoring work under Statistics and Probability all this time. Thus, my Biostatistics tutoring experience is approximately 9 years here on Wyzant, plus classroom teaching to epidemiology and medical students. I have a PhD in Biostatistics from the Department of Biostatistics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which is the oldest department of Biostatistics in the world. My narrow specialization in Biostatistics is survival analysis, specifically, complex time-to-event data including recurrent events, competing risks, recurrent events of multiple types, and such. I have over 20 years of work experience in the field of Biostatistics, both in academia and in the pharmaceutical industry. I mostly worked as an applied biostatistician, thus I have first-hand knowledge of real-life problems which a biostatistician typically encounters during their work. As most Biostatisticians, I naturally am proficient in statistical programming using SAS and R, as this is a necessary part of our daily jobs.
