Hello, there!
My Purpose:
My name is Sydney and I am a Boston University graduate ('22) with three years of experience in assisting students with their personal statements and other writing-heavy sections of their college, graduate school, law school and medical school applications. I am here to lessen the weight of application essay writing so that individuals are able to focus on the professional endeavors they dream of.
My Strategy:
Crafting a well thought-out written piece can sometimes induce a sort of paralysis, or "writer's block," in the face of so many other moving parts in an application. It is my goal to create structure for students to make the writing process more approachable. To achieve this goal, I introduce students to my essay templates, host brain storming sessions, provide thorough editing and honest feedback based on my experience. I have assisted dozens of students in their acceptances to programs in higher education. It is my job to reveal the stories they have to offer, but don't know how to tell.
My Edge:
As a full-time marketing strategist for pharmaceutical companies, I have extensive experience with practicing intentional storytelling that appeals to a unique audience's desires. The admissions committees at educational institutions are, to me, just another audience. So much of what we say depends on whom we are speaking to. While assisting students with their personal statements, I ensure that we are keeping this principle at the front-and-center of each sentence and every paragraph.
