Hey there! My name is Ruben. I am a Pathology Resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where I spend much of my time at the microscope learning how to diagnose diseases accurately and efficiently. Last year I became a teaching assistant in the Pathology Foundations course at Harvard Medical School, I realized how much fun teaching can actually be. I really enjoy helping students break down challenging ideas into something clear and easy to understand.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, build confidence, and come away with a stronger understanding of the material. In my teaching, I encourage students to think first and try to come up with solutions on their own so they can develop a deeper understanding of the problem at hand.

Neuroscience

Hey there! I’m a physician and current pathology resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School with strong expertise in diagnostic pathology, including experience diagnosing neuropathologic disease. My work centers on histology, disease mechanisms, and image-based analysis, and I approach neuroscience through the lens of real tissue diagnosis, clinicopathologic correlation, and systems-level understanding. I’ve trained and worked in Harvard-affiliated clinical and research environments, including Massachusetts General Hospital, and have contributed to multiple research projects, publications, and presentations involving quantitative pathology and imaging analysis. In 2024, I also served as a Teaching Assistant for Harvard Medical School’s Pathology Foundations Course. Together, these experiences allow me to teach neuroscience with the depth of a pathologist, connecting foundational concepts directly to brain disease, diagnosis, and clinical relevance.
