Hi! I’m an Honors Biochemistry graduate and experienced chemistry tutor with a passion for helping students build understanding and problem-solving skills in challenging STEM subjects. Over two years as a paid chemistry tutor, I have worked with students to strengthen their understanding of difficult concepts, improve test performance, and develop effective strategies for tackling complex problems.

During college, I received two American Chemical Society awards recognizing achievement in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, earned the highest GPA in my major, and spent 3.5 years conducting organic synthesis research. This fall, I will begin a Ph.D. program in Chemical Biology, continuing to build on my background in chemistry and biochemistry. My research experience has given me an appreciation for how chemistry is applied beyond the classroom, and I enjoy helping students connect course concepts to real-world scientific questions.

I believe that the most effective tutoring sessions are dynamic and conversational. I strive to create a supportive, low-stress environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through mistakes, and developing the skills needed to solve problems independently.

In addition to chemistry tutoring, I work with students preparing for the ACT and GRE. I earned a 35 composite ACT score and scored 166 Verbal and 167 Quantitative on the GRE. Having taken these exams relatively recently, I understand the challenges students face and enjoy helping them improve both their content knowledge and test-taking strategies.

My approach to test preparation emphasizes timed practice, pattern recognition, and efficient problem-solving techniques. Whether you're preparing for a standardized test, tackling a challenging chemistry course, or looking to strengthen your study skills, I enjoy helping students reach their goals while making the learning process engaging and as stress-free as possible.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I help students identify recurring grammar patterns, recognize common errors, and develop strategies for answering questions efficiently without overthinking. Beyond memorizing rules, I focus on helping students understand why certain choices improve clarity, organization, and style. My goal is to help students build the skills needed to consistently perform well on ACT English questions.
ACT Math

ACT Math

Having completed numerous upper-level STEM courses, I understand what it takes to develop efficiency and confidence in mathematical problem-solving. I help students identify common question patterns, recognize frequent "trick" answers, and apply efficient approaches that save time during the test. My background includes algebra, geometry, statistics, and data analysis, and I encourage timed practice to help students become more comfortable solving problems accurately under pressure.
ACT Reading

ACT Reading

I help students develop strategies for finding key information efficiently, recognizing common question patterns, and managing time effectively on the exam. Through practice with literary, historical, social science, and natural science passages, students learn to improve both their reading speed and comprehension. My goal is to help students approach challenging passages with confidence and accuracy.
ACT Science

ACT Science

With extensive experience reading and interpreting scientific literature, I am skilled at quickly extracting key information from data tables, figures, graphs, and complex passages. The ACT Science section is less about memorizing scientific facts and more about efficiently interpreting information. I help students learn how to identify the most important details, analyze figures and experimental results, and answer questions accurately, even when they do not fully understand the scientific content being presented.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I offer tutoring for both high school and college-level chemistry. My approach emphasizes understanding the fundamental concepts that connect topics across chemistry, including atomic structure, bonding, thermodynamics, equilibrium, kinetics, and chemical reactions. In addition to strengthening conceptual understanding, I help students break down complex, multi-step problems into manageable parts and develop organized approaches to solving quantitative and conceptual questions. My goal is to help students build a foundation that supports long-term success in chemistry.
GRE

GRE

I help students prepare for both the Quantitative and Verbal sections of the GRE with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and strategic thinking. For the quantitative section, I emphasize time-saving approaches to challenging math problems and help students recognize when those strategies can be applied. For the verbal section, I teach students how to identify the main ideas in complex passages, avoid common traps in answer choices, and approach reading comprehension questions with greater confidence. I also help students become more comfortable reading dense academic texts and develop the vocabulary and analytical skills needed for success on the exam.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

Organic chemistry can feel overwhelming when approached as a collection of reactions to memorize. I help students build a strong understanding of the chemical principles that drive reaction mechanisms and synthesis problems so they can reason through unfamiliar questions with confidence. My goal is to help students understand why reactions occur, not just memorize steps. I also help students develop strategies for approaching new reactions by applying core concepts they already know, leading to stronger retention and improved exam performance.
