Hi, I'm Simon. I graduated from high school with a 3.84 unweighted GPA and am now studying at McGill University. I am pursuing an Economics Honors with a Statistics Minor, and I've always loved math. Throughout all my schooling, including university, I have loved learning, applying, and exploring math in many different ways. In my junior year of high school, I took AP Statistics, which changed my perspective of the world for the better. It provided me with a foundation for exploring large samples and analyzing scientific and economic findings. Later, in senior year, I took AP Calculus BC, which helped me understand large and small-scale change. I finished both Honors Precalculus and AP Calculus BC with above a 94%. I also scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam. With this experience, I have a strong base of knowledge in Calculus 1 and 2. These two math classes in particular, alongside my own curiosity and love for teaching, help me reinforce students' understanding of mathematical concepts as a tutor.

Additionally, I took 6 years of French in school, and am now living in a bilingual city, Montreal. These two experiences, combined with my year of tutoring French, allow me to understand the perspective of high school students learning the language.

As well as academic subjects, I have a passion for public speaking. I was a member of my high school's speech and debate team for all four years of high school. I was a 4-time competitor at the Massachusetts state championship and a 2-time finalist, as well as a 3-time competitor at the national championship and a 1-time octo-finalist (top 48 in the country). As an upperclassman, I coached several novice speakers into breaking to finals at regional tournaments.

The majority of my teaching experience has been one-on-one, so I am very comfortable with a typical tutoring environment. I am quick to respond and have a flexible schedule, and am open to feedback from students and parents. Feel free to reach out with questions or to book a lesson!
