Hello, I’m Cait! I’m a Latin, Ancient Greek, Koine Greek, and German tutor who helps students of all ages achieve clear, measurable results in these subjects. If your goal is to raise grades, improve test scores, advance language levels, or build strong foundational skills and confidence, you have come to the right place and I look forward to working with you.

As your tutor, I bring nearly two decades of advanced study in these languages, along with extensive classroom experience. I have taught hundreds of secondary school and college students and spent four years as a high school Latin teacher and World Languages Department Head. I hold a master’s degree in Classical Languages from UCLA and have also taught in the Classics and English departments at UCLA and UC San Diego.

My students typically see noticeable improvement within a few weeks: stronger translation skills, higher quiz and exam scores, and increased confidence in class participation. I support a wide range of goals, from catching up after falling behind to excelling in rigorous courses such as AP Latin or college Latin and Greek courses.

Each lesson is tailored to my students’ specific needs and aligned with their course's curriculum or my own curricula. I use targeted practice, structured review, practice assessments, and frequent feedback to ensure steady progress and long-term retention. I also provide regular updates so my students can clearly track their improvement and feel confident in their academic growth. My goal is not just short-term success, but lasting independence—so students leave sessions more confident, capable, and prepared to succeed on their own.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, oil painting, and hiking in the forests of New England with my little chihuahua, Mackerel. I look forward to helping you succeed in Latin, Ancient Greek, or German!

I have four years experience of English teaching at the high school level, and a few more years teaching English at the college level. Additionally, I specialize in College Essay writing and have had great success with my students and their essays. I am AP College Board certified to teach AP English Literature and AP English Language and Composition. While teaching high school AP English, my students scored well above the national and state average.

Having lived and studied in Germany, I became fluent in German after over a decade of study. I've studied German since a young age and continued all the way through graduate school, picking up a minor from UMass Amherst, credit from the Albert Ludwigs Universität Freiburg, and a certification of fluency in German from UCLA. I have experience working with students of all ages and all levels of German!

In my high school AP English courses--I taught both AP English Literature and AP English Language--I included a unit on College Essay writing, which had incredible success. Students set themselves apart from other applications and received acceptance into their top schools. Additionally, I'm AP College Board certified to teach AP English Literature and Language, and have taken courses through the College Board on teaching/grading the exam. My students, through 6 scores on their essays, achieved well above the national and state average.
