I have been tutoring Math part-time since my retirement in 2015. The decision to tutor Math has been a highlight of my retirement to date. I’ve tutored subjects ranging from Algebra to pre-Calculus, for goals ranging from passing the GED to completing college math requirements, for students ranging in age from teenage to my age(!), in-person and on-line. Exceptional Tutor Who Makes a Difference
Mr. Robert has been an exceptional tutor for my son Adi in Precalculus. Adi absolutely loves working with him and has made remarkable progress since starting his lessons. Once Adi began having daily sessions with Mr. Robert, he became more confident in tackling problems on his own, yet he continues to request sessions because of the invaluable support he receives. Mr. Robert’s lesson summaries are always thorough and insightful, making it easy for me to see the progress Adi is making. For example, in one session, they went over systems of equations involving linear, polynomial, rational, and square-root functions. Adi was able to understand the concepts and solve additional problems independently. In another session, they reviewed polynomial division, solving polynomials, and constructing polynomial expressions, which left Adi feeling ready for his unit test. Mr. Robert’s ability to explain complex topics clearly and reinforce key concepts has been instrumental in Adi’s success. Whether it’s discussing Pascal’s triangle, synthetic division, or solving radical equations, Mr. Robert ensures that Adi grasps each topic thoroughly. He also provides helpful reminders and clarifications, such as the definition of an inverse function and Descartes' Rule of Signs. Adi's improved understanding and confidence in Precalculus are a direct result of Mr. Robert’s dedicated and effective teaching. Robert uses a number of different techniques to engage and does a great job working through questions and challenges with a student until they understand! He is patient and explains concepts thoroughly. He is also flexible and works with the material assigned to a homeschool student well. Finally, he works very well with our schedule.
