I am a licensed Massachusetts history teacher with a strong academic background and hands-on classroom experience working with diverse learners. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Education from the College of the Holy Cross, where I was a multiple-time Dean’s List honoree and inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. I later completed a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University, which strengthened my ability to design engaging, standards-aligned lessons that meet individual student needs. I currently hold an Initial Teaching License in History for grades 5–12 in Massachusetts.
My teaching experience spans both classroom and one-on-one instructional settings. I have taught U.S. History, Economics, and Current Events at the high school level. In my current role as a high school social studies teacher, I focus on building strong relationships with students, making complex material accessible, and helping students develop the analytical reading, writing, and critical thinking skills needed for academic success. I have worked with students across a wide range of ability levels, including those who need additional structure, academic support, or enrichment.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience working closely with children of all ages and families as a behavior therapist, where I implemented individualized plans, monitored progress, and adjusted strategies based on student response. This background informs my tutoring approach, which emphasizes patience, clear expectations, and personalized instruction. When tutoring, I tailor sessions to each student’s goals, whether that means reinforcing content knowledge, preparing for exams, improving writing skills, or building confidence. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking ownership of their learning.
