For 34 years I have been an educator of people: from children as young as 6 in home-schooled situations (Spanish), to middle schoolers both online and in-person (Spanish, French, Italian), to high schoolers in private and public schools throughout the country (Spanish and French), to adult learners learning English in evening ESOL programs. I am professionally certified in the state of MA in Spanish 5-12, and French 5-12 and I am pursuing ELL certification as well. I hold a Master's of Education in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (1997), and a C.A.G.S. in Educational Leadership from the American International College (2019) so that I could become a curriculum leader and department chair but I ended up not wanting to leave the classroom. I enjoy working with students too much! I have friends that are like family in France, and I am a Colombian-American, which give me insights into the beauty of cultural diversity, and I am always learning something new for my own personal growth, whether it is a new language (currently learning Portuguese and wanting to learn Hebrew and Mandarin), or creative arts-related (I just started doing pottery and dabbled in photography for several years beginning to learn more in earnest about it to do this professionally "When I grow up", as well as going to finally learn a musical instrument. I am proud and happy to say that my students love my teaching style and feel successful as I show them how much I care about their learning. I was almost killed in a car accident on Oct 19, 2025, and my HS students were inspired by how I worked hard to recover and then still prepare them fully for the AP exam in May even after my 3 month absence during my recovery. They thanked me for my care, resilience, and inspiration to never give up in the face of adversity. This was my purpose in life as a teacher: to inspire young minds to not allow anything to hold them back, as learning and self-improvement hold no bounds.
