I’m a certified Reading Specialist, Special Education teacher, and literacy interventionist with over a decade of experience helping students become confident, joyful, and successful readers and writers.

I specialize in foundational reading skills, structured literacy, and I work closely with families to help them understand data, progress, and the IEP process.

What I Teach:

Phonics & Early Reading (my specialty!)

I’m trained in Orton-Gillingham, Fundations, Wilson, RAVE-O, and other evidence-based programs. I support students with:
Phonemic awareness & sound manipulation
Decoding and word attack strategies
Blending, segmenting, and multisyllabic word reading
Fluency development
High-frequency/trick words
Dyslexia-informed instruction
Building confidence for reluctant readers
Reading Comprehension
Writing & Spelling

My approach is explicit, systematic, multisensory, and FUN; everything a developing reader needs!

IEP-Informed Academic Support

As a special education lead teacher and literacy specialist, I regularly work with students who have:
Dyslexia, ADHD, Language-based learning disabilities, Executive functioning challenges, Processing difficulties, Speech/language needs. I use accommodations, scaffolded lessons, and data-driven instruction to meet students exactly where they are and move them forward.

What Makes Me Different: I Support Parents, Too

Many families feel overwhelmed by testing results, school communication, or the IEP process. While I do not advocate in legal or official capacities, I can help parents understand their child's strengths and areas for growth, as well as how to prepare for team meetings. I partner with families so they feel empowered, informed, and supported...never alone.
