Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Steve, and I work full time as a Statistician for an Ivy League University and the United States Government. I earned my Master’s degree in Statistics with a 4.00 GPA and am a published author in peer reviewed scientific journals. I bring that real-world experience into my tutoring and have over six years of experience working with students from middle school through graduate school.
I tutor a wide range of math and science courses, including pre algebra, algebra I and II, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus I, II, and III, linear algebra, differential equations, probability, statistics, and AP courses. I also help with SAT and ACT math, GRE quantitative preparation, and college level statistics and research methods. In science, I support students in physics, biology, and other quantitative classes. My tutoring style is structured and supportive. I identify gaps in understanding, break down complex topics into clear steps, and focus on building confidence so students can solve challenging problems independently.
I also have extensive experience tutoring online and working with students who are significantly behind or have missed large amounts of school. I create structured catch up plans that rebuild foundational skills while moving students forward in current coursework. For students who are chronically absent or struggling with motivation, I provide accountability, clear goals, and steady encouragement. I adapt my approach to meet each student where they are and help them make meaningful progress.
