When I first meet with a family, often times everyone is frustrated. The parent(s) are struggling to help but feel unable to for many reasons. The child is also frustrated and often times has given up. My gentile yet demanding approach to tutoring helps struggling adolescents open up to the idea of working harder while improving their confidence. My expert and intricate knowledge of the k-12 curriculum requirements allows me to pinpoint areas of weakness that need review. I am also able to introduce the next extension for topics so your child will have a head start.

I am a certified and experienced math teacher who current teaches Honors Geometry and Algebra 2. I have previously been the high school’s math interventionist and gave taught 7th and 8th grade mathematic. I have extensive tutoring experience. I am certified to teach grades 5-12 through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. I have both a B.S. in Mathematics and Masters in the Arts of Teaching High School Mathematics and B.S. in mathematics.

I approach Algebra I with simple methods that you can understand and have very unique ways of explaining topics. Most students are completely surprised by my approaches to problems and absolutely love them.

I began teaching in the classroom for a k-8 school where I received a lot of professional training in how to teach elementary level students. I have also privately tutored many elementary students. I know many resources to help make learning math fun and engaging for them.

I have tutored numerous students for the GED. All passed the exam after tutoring with me. I have studied this exam and know the types of questions asked. This allows us to focus on the areas that are most important for passing the exam.

I had my first session with Allison on 06-19-18, and it went great. She is clearly very knowledgeable on the subject and is also a great teacher. She introduced simple methods which helped me understand things a little more. I look forward to continuing my sessions with her!
