For example, I have been known to explain emails and websites by comparing the internet and the world of paranormal activity!

With 3 years of experience as a one-on-one up to one-on-seven French teacher for Berlitz (mainly), I feel I am ready to build bridges of knowledge with all students, regardless of their age and background. My experience surely made Harvard Business School comfortable enough for me to teach their MBA students.

I have a cum-laude high-school diploma from France that specialized in Sciences. That got me into the premium Science Competition preparation program, where we studied Maths, Physics, Chemistry to a level that's equivalent in having a Bachelor Degree in each. With a high GRE score, I specialized in Civil and Structural Engineering as well as Architecture at the Masters level. I also got a 740 score at the GMAT test, for which I developed study techniques to get over hang-ups.

Looking forward to meeting you, and to talking about your aspirations!

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have always been comfortable with scientific subjects. Probably because in the end, whether it's right or wrong doesn't depend on somebody else's subjective opinion, but rather is factual. From the age of 13 all the way to completing my engineering degree in France and my Masters in Texas, I have excelled in the subject of Maths, and still get a kick out of resolving equations! I love passing on my passion for the subject.

Calculus

Calculus

I have always been at the top of my class since elementary school all the way through college, and maths is really the subject that placed me there. I loved physics in high-school, but in classes preparatoires aux grandes ecoles (French engineering school prep program), Math became my favorite subject. That change I think was due to the style of my physics teacher while we were studying the most complex subjects. All the while my new Math teacher was very clear, and methodical and it was easier to progress. This is the style I try to bring with me. I hope I am one of those teachers students feel empowered by and who ultimately makes you like the subject more.
Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering

I have studied structural (and civil) engineering in France, and got a Masters in Construction Engineering in Texas, followed by 8 years as a construction manager for a commercial GC in Texas

French

French

I am a French native from the south of France but have a neutral accent. My whole family still lives there and I visit twice a year. I studied 7 languages with the translation method, but when I try to get my students speaking fast, I find that the direct method is more effective. It makes it the best choice for preparing for a trip for pleasure or business. I teach in Boston and Waltham.
Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project

I worked with Microsoft Project and Primavera P3 for seven years when I was a commercial construction manager of $100M projects. Some of the projects I created and updated have had 1,600 activities.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I am an engineer "made in France". Our school system puts a lot of emphasis on math and I was so good I chose the scientific path at 15, and pursued my training onto the "math sup math spé" prep to the best engineering schools in France. I went to a "Grande Ecole" and obtained Bachelor and Master degrees in Civil Engineering.
Project Management

Project Management

I have a Masters in Construction Engineering and Project Management. 8 years as commercial GC project manager, from estimating/bidding/rfp to construction and warranty work. Transitioned to IT project management by starting as Customer Service and now I am a Senior Project Manager for websites, apps, and all things IT. Working under PMO or in start-ups. I have experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Series 7

Series 7

I passed my series 7, 66, and 31 exams in 2010 with over 88%. I also worked at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. I can't guarantee I'll get you a 100%, but I probably can help you get over hangups.
Spanish

Spanish

My French mother was fluent is Spanish after living in Barcelona, Spain for 8 years. She was a court interpreter for the French legal system and she instilled the love of language in me. I started studying Spanish as my 3rd language at 11 years old and studied it through the end of high-school. I kept using it while travelling to Mexico, Argentina and Puero Rico. It turned out to be useful in all kinds of settings from my day-job in construction or interviewing potential roommates! I teach using the same method I use for French, it's called the "direct method" - which means I try to speak in the target language as much as possible (vs translating). I think it gets people talking faster, even though the accuracy in lower at first. I have a neutral accent, closest to Columbian accent. Accents can be quite different: - Spain > lots of s sounds - Argentina > lots of ch sounds (imported musicality from Italian) - Puerto Rico > reggae inspired

Fabulous French Teaching From A Native French Speaker

Isabelle is a fabulous French teacher from the get-go. She is punctual, engaging, and comes organized with a plan. The benefit of learning from a native speaker is obvious; Isabelle pronounces everything accurately, she has an extensive vocabulary of a native speaker, and she can impart culture behind the language! She is suitably strict and engaging at the same time with our kids. We look forward to continued lessons with her.

Great tutor

She's very understanding, caring, and helpful. She walks you through each issue and helps address it. we went over SER, ESTAR, personal pronouns, and other things. Isabelle goes out of her way to make things easier for the student, whether that is through coming up with multiple examples of a concept or providing extra practice.

Amazing Tutor

Isabelle has been really helpful with my investment course. I was struggling at the beginning to understand some main concept, which she easily clarified them for me. I recommend her to anyone who is facing problems with finance.

Goes at your pace!

Isabelle was not only beyond nice, but stopped every so often to make sure I was understanding everything. She could even read my facial expressions! She explains things slowly and provides many examples. She's a pro.

A Great tutor, who will help you reach your potential

I studied French for in high school and college but after many years I had forgotten much. With an upcoming vacation to France I wanted to renew my study of French and found Wyzant and luckily Isabelle! Isabelle spent the first lesson figuring out my skill level, running through a number of exercises to refresh my memory and then went through my goals. She laid out a plan, and has been consistent in delivering a good lesson, being patient and working towards my goals one lesson at a time. She uses a wide variety of exercises and discussions to keep things lively and interesting, the lesson time flies by. She even went above and beyond the call of duty by translating a call with a hotel I was having a reservation issue with, quickly solving the problem. Positives: Punctual Native French Speaker (Fluent English speaker) Quick to reply to emails or calls Very friendly which makes the lesson go by quickly Focus on detail: she will not let you slide by with pronouncing something close enough, we work on getting the accent just right, and the flow of what I'm saying to help me really speak the language. Other notes: limited location availability (off of red line)
