I hold a Bachelor's degree in History with a concentration in Africana Studies and a Certificate in Spanish, and a Master's degree in Experimental Humanities & Social Engagement, with a focus on dramatic writing. I am also a Fulbright Scholar, as I was an English Teaching Assistant to undergraduate students in Colombia.
As an educator, I have a passion for project-based learning that involves and encourages creativity, personality, and passionate self expression and self discovery. I deeply value using a student's lived experience and life connections in order to better learn and engage with a topic. Through my ten year history of being in education in a multitude of settings and classroom, working with students one on one with tutoring and also in small and large classrooms, I have come to really value not only what a student learns, but how they grow as a person and develop their character through the knowledge gained.
