My name is Ayush and I am a Senior Computer Science Major at WPI, and I have a Level 1 International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) from the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA). I am very passionate about helping students get ahead, clear up concepts, or prepare for exams and standardized tests. For over two years, I have worked with students ranging from elementary school to college students, helping them grow their confidence in core math, computer science, and physics subjects.
For my last two years of high school, I worked as a math tutor at Mathnasium, helping students in all grades using the provided curriculum, providing challenging enrichment problems, and helping with schoolwork. At WPI, I am a current tutor of the Academic Resource Center, assisting students with homework and exam preparation. I have been serving in this role for over one year, and have been re-hired for the next school year. Additionally, I am a Teaching Assistant for the WPI Computer Science Department, having earned an A in every math and CS class taken at the university level.
My passion for working with students in STEM reaches beyond my formal paid experiences. As a software mentor for WPI's FIRST Robotics Competition team, I have helped many students learn first-hand engineering skills and program concepts. My approach is tailored to each student, letting the students explore possible solutions to problems before jumping in for assistance. I will never directly provide a solution to a problem at hand. Instead, I offer similar example problems and their solution, and let the students use that knowledge for their homework problems. My approach works best when the student comes to each session prepared with questions, example problems, and steps the student took to try to find the answer themselves. My goal is not only to help students to get through one homework assignment, but to build confidence in mastering the topics itself. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
