About Valeri

Bio

I am a life-long professional mathematician (Math PhD), computer-scientist, expert chess player, and an educator. I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics since my youth, leading a math circle, teaching algebra and trigonometry in high school, and tutoring mathematics one-on-one.

I also had spent more than a decade educating adult professionals (engineers) in various aspects of computer science (both theoretical and practical) and mathematics.

I am a life-long professional mathematician (Math PhD), computer-scientist, expert chess player, and an educator. I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics since my youth, leading a math circle, teaching algebra and trigonometry in high school, and tutoring mathematics one-on-one.

I also had spent more than a decade educating adult professionals (engineers) in various aspects of computer science (both theoretical and practical) and mathematics.

A world-class mathematician in my youth, I have decades of experience of coaching mathematically-gifted students, as well as turning formerly struggling students around through one-on-one tutoring, by greatly improving their confidence, understanding, and of course grades.

I have a twenty-year working experience in C, and several patents in my name for developing and implementing highly sophisticated coding algorithms.

I am an expert chess player, representing the national chess team of Ukraine in my youth, and attaining the ranking of the candidate Chess Master.

I have been an avid chess player as long as I can remember myself. In my youth, I represented Ukrainian National Chess Team. At that time, I attained the rank of Candidate Master---two designations below the Grand Master. Since then, I have taught the art of the game to countless number of children and adults.
