Enthusiastic math teacher

I am a Chemical Engineer and worked in India in the field for a couple of years. After moving to the US, I worked as a volunteer in an elementary school. Later, I worked substitute teacher in public schools for about 5 years. Then I was a long term substitute for grade 8 math, where I had the experience of teaching the curriculum to Grade 8 and Honors classes. The curriculum was per the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. I worked towards getting an initial teaching license for middle school math, and then pursued my masters degree which will be done in December, 2024. I have been working in a middle school for 5 years now.

I work at an after school math program as a classroom teacher, and have experience teaching Algebra and Geometry for middle school. The students that I worked with were KG through 8th grade, but my interest lies in teaching the middle school curriculum.

Beyond the classroom, I have also worked as a private tutor for middle school students preparing them for the grade level curriculum. This experience has honed my ability to tailor instruction to individual learning needs and to use targeted strategies to help students achieve their academic goals. I have experience co-teaching middle school mathematics content in the public school setting. I believe in collaboration and using resources to their best availability. I have experience in classroom teaching, planning lessons and the flow of the unit, and also one-to-one teaching or small group teaching.

Overall, my educational background, certifications, test scores, and extensive teaching experience collectively position me to offer effective and personalized tutoring. I am dedicated to helping students succeed by leveraging my knowledge and expertise to support their academic development.
