With a Bachelor's in Creative Writing and a Master's in Education, certified in Elementary Education and ESOL )English to Speakers of Other Languages), I bring over a decade of experience as an ESOL teacher. I have worked in various settings including public schools, private language schools, colleges and overseas. Recently I have worked as a 11th grade co-teacher in a public school and as an ESOL Teacher at a community college.
I'm also the foster mother of two teenagers that speak Spanish as a native language. Because of this, I not only know am I proficient in Spanish, but I understand the struggles students who speak English as a second language face in school particularly in reading, writing, speaking and listening (for example, note taking)
As a teacher, I aim to inspire creativity and curiosity in my students. I believe in the power of building relationships, helping students overcome nervousness, and creating a comfortable learning environment.
In addition, I'm passionate about Creative Writing and am a published author of a picture book and love American history.
