Ciao! I am Francesca, a native Italian speaker. I was born and raised in Italy and I live in Boston. I have a master degree and a certificate in teaching Italian to foreigners and I always keep up to date with new courses, because I think that being always updated in a field is very important.

Patient, Fantastic, Smart, and Very Nice
I have been working with Francesca for almost a year now, and I am so happy that I came upon her. Francesca is so nice, and very patient. I am personally a very slow learner, and I feel she is very good with this; her temperment, everything. Francesca is incredibly smart, and well cultured. She has opened my world to a wide range of new content that comes from Italy. I have developed much more pride in my own Italian roots as a result. In fact, I have come into contact with my long lost relatives who still live there. I credit Francesca for paving this path in my life. So strange, when I first met her I said "Oh nobody goes to where my family is from...Bari." And Francesca said "I AM FROM BARI!" And so a journey that has made me slightly less ignorant commenced... Francesca's method of teaching works very well for me personally. I use many methods outside of our lessons as well, because language learning means practicing a lot. Francesca engages in dialogue (waiting patiently for me to form a sentence) and also works me through exercises that I would never do on my own if I were alone. I am pushed through something I would never do otherwise which is essential for language learning. I am so grateful to have met Francesca, and have my world opened so much without even leaving my apartment!

Great First experience
After trying to use apps to learn Italian, and failing to do nothing more than memorize phrases, i decided to try a tutor. Francesca is great and I'm looking forward to learning from someone FROM ITALY and not from an app! Highly recommend her.

Perfect Tutor for My Travel to Italy
I have studied with Francesca twice a week of the last year to prepare for a major trip to Italy in my retirement. We used the Nuovo Espresso book series which has many exercises, audio and associated video activities. Francesca is a very experienced instructor and academically trained applied language teacher. She is very patient and kind. One immediately feels comfortable with her accepting style. She has access to additional materials and brings them into play when requested or when she can tell that extra activities will help solidify the learning. She is very organized and responsive to any requests with flexibility in scheduling if needed. In our time together, there was always a healthy balance of learning about the language and applying the language in practical ways. She easily adapted to my various needs and adjusted to my improving language skills. I feel that such flexibility makes her a valuable instructor for a wide range of learning needs. I have greatly benefited from her encouraging and nurturing approach to instruction and highly recommend her to potential students.

Francesca is an excellent teacher! I started tutoring with her in my third semester of Italian and I needed a complete refresher course all the way back to the basics, I struggled a lot with conjugations but she has always been incredibly kind and always patient when I needed further explanation on how something works. She made it easier to understand my class material. I just finished my last college Italian class and I’m really thankful for everything she’s helped me with over the last two semesters.
