I have a degree in French and Francophone Studies and have spent much of my academic life studying language, literature, writing, and the ways people communicate ideas. I studied at the Université de Tours in France, where I developed my French through immersion, and I have experience with both academic and conversational French. Alongside my formal studies, my graduate work and independent projects have focused on creative writing in English and psychology. This has given me a broad background in literary analysis, close reading, critical thinking, research, and both creative and academic writing.

I have several years of experience as a teaching assistant at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, working with students in classroom and one-on-one settings. I helped students work through difficult material, develop their ideas, improve their writing, and become more confident communicating their thoughts. I especially enjoy helping students who understand what they want to say but have trouble putting it into words. My background allows me to work with students on English literature, literary analysis, essays, research papers, creative writing, psychology, French language and literature, and conversational French.

My approach is collaborative and adapted to the individual student. Rather than simply correcting a paper or giving students answers, I help them understand what is and isn't working, strengthen their arguments, organize their thoughts, and develop their own voice. For French students, I can also focus on conversation and practical communication rather than relying entirely on textbook exercises. My goal is for students to leave with both a stronger piece of work and skills they can use on their own.
