PhD Interdisciplinary Engineering (infrastructure resilience, climate change adaptation, data science), MS Civil Engineering, BS Environmental Geology & Chemistry.

My research has won numerous awards from universities, national laboratories, and professional conferences, and has been cited in congressional testimony, turned into teaching tools, and translated into US patents. I have a PhD-level command of various branches of statistics/data science/machine learning, hydrology, transportation engineering, and systems theory, and expertise in data visualization techniques, programming in MATLAB, Python, and R, and geographic information systems (arcGIS Pro/online). I have extremely high proficiency in technical and creative English writing, and an undergraduate-to-graduate-level command of a broad range of subjects from European history, philosophy, and literature to biochemistry, calculus, and psychology.

The majority of my mentoring and tutoring experience is with students in high school and in undergraduate and graduate (MS/PhD) programs, though I’m eager to work with younger students as well. Former high school mentees have presented the culmination of our work at international scientific conferences and gained admission to top universities. I’ve been recognized for work in subjects I once thought I was inherently unsuited for; I take pride in my ability to meet students where they’re at and convey complex concepts with unorthodox approaches tailored to individual needs and experiences. I was homeschooled from grades K-8 and would love the opportunity to work with homeschooling students. Happy to provide references upon request.
