Hello! I'm Sarah, and I am a current graduate student pursuing a Masters in Social Work. I graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College in 2024 with a degree in Psychology and Women's and Gender Studies.
I have extensive experience supporting elementary through college students in reading and academic writing. This past year, I worked with high school seniors to craft competitive essays for college applications. I have four years of experience as a volunteer literacy tutor for children in 2nd-7th grade, many of whom spoke English as a second language. I previously worked as support staff at a school for children with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties and developed valuable skills in providing compassionate educational support and homework help to children that may struggle in traditional academic settings.
As a tutor, I am warm, patient, and flexible. Through my professional experience and my own experience of living with ADHD, I understand how frustrating it is to try so hard and still feel like you aren't "getting it." I'm here to work through it together in a creative and non-judgmental space. I'm passionate about reading and writing, and am eager to help your student discover their own voice. I have stable internet access and can work remotely, and I also have access to reliable transportation if meeting in person is preferred.
