Greetings! I hold a PhD in organic chemistry and have a combined 12 years of experience tutoring or teaching general and organic chemistry at the college/university level.
My first experience in any tutoring or teaching was while I was an undergraduate student at the University of Scranton, where I tutored fellow undergraduate students in organic chemistry for 2 years.
In graduate school, while earning a PhD in organic chemistry at Syracuse University, I was a teaching assistant for general and organic chemistry recitation and organic chemistry lab for about 6 years. I am proud to have earned a 4.0 GPA in my graduate classes.
Following my PhD work, I taught organic chemistry lab as an Adjunct Professor at Hamilton College for 2 years and I taught organic chemistry lecture and general chemistry lab as a Post-Doctoral Lecturer at Villanova University for 2 years.
My belief is that every student learns differently, and that mass lecture approach to teaching/learning science may not work optimally for everyone. I try to work with students to understand what their approach to learning chemistry is, and adjust my lessons accordingly. For those who may need just a little extra help, or for those who may need a whole new perspective on organic chemistry, I am here to be your resource to better learning!
