Hi! I’m Demira, and I am an incoming undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University. I am a 2026 graduate of The Winsor School in Boston, where I completed a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum with an approximate cumulative GPA of 3.9 unweighted. I scored a 1510 on the SAT (760 Math, 750 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) and scored in the 99th percentile on the SSAT. I earned 5s on AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP U.S. Government, AP Environmental Science, and received a 4 on AP Psychology. I am an AP Scholar with Distinction and received the Frances Dorwin Dugan Prize from Winsor for excellence in History.
Over the past four years, I have worked with over 90 students, spanning elementary, middle, and high school, in one-on-one, small-group, classroom, virtual, and peer-tutoring settings. I worked as a Mathematics Tutor at the Russian School of Mathematics, where I aided new students who needed to catch up to the curriculum. This was where I first found my passion for teaching. In my junior year of high school, I became a teaching assistant for the Milton Academy Saturday Course Program, where I supported students seeking to learn advanced math topics. In 2025, I founded LiftED Tutoring, a free virtual tutoring initiative for students in grades 2-9 across the country, and offered individualized and small group lessons in history, English, and math. I also served as Head History Peer Tutor at Winsor, overseeing the peer tutoring program.
With high SAT and SSAT scores, I bring firsthand experience with test-taking strategies such as pacing, pattern recognition, and Desmos usage that are crucial to success on these exams.
My tutoring approach is individualized: I determine what a student already understands, adapt lessons, and check for misconceptions early. My goal is to help students become confident, independent learners who can develop their own study strategies.
