Hi! I’m Demira, and I am an incoming undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University. I am a 2026 graduate of The Winsor School in Boston, where I completed a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum with an approximate cumulative GPA of 3.9 unweighted. I scored a 1510 on the SAT (760 Math, 750 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) and scored in the 99th percentile on the SSAT. I earned 5s on AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP U.S. Government, AP Environmental Science, and received a 4 on AP Psychology. I am an AP Scholar with Distinction and received the Frances Dorwin Dugan Prize from Winsor for excellence in History.
Over the past four years, I have worked with over 90 students, spanning elementary, middle, and high school, in one-on-one, small-group, classroom, virtual, and peer-tutoring settings. I worked as a Mathematics Tutor at the Russian School of Mathematics, where I aided new students who needed to catch up to the curriculum. This was where I first found my passion for teaching. In my junior year of high school, I became a teaching assistant for the Milton Academy Saturday Course Program, where I supported students seeking to learn advanced math topics. In 2025, I founded LiftED Tutoring, a free virtual tutoring initiative for students in grades 2-9 across the country, and offered individualized and small group lessons in history, English, and math. I also served as Head History Peer Tutor at Winsor, overseeing the peer tutoring program.
With high SAT and SSAT scores, I bring firsthand experience with test-taking strategies such as pacing, pattern recognition, and Desmos usage that are crucial to success on these exams.
My tutoring approach is individualized: I determine what a student already understands, adapt lessons, and check for misconceptions early. My goal is to help students become confident, independent learners who can develop their own study strategies.

Approved Subjects

Government & Politics

Government & Politics

I earned a 5 on the AP U.S. Government and Politics exam and have extensive experience studying government, politics, and current affairs. As a head history peer tutor and recipient of Winsor’s Frances Dorwin Dugan Prize for excellence in History, I have developed strong skills in analyzing political institutions, constitutional principles, public policy, and historical context. I help students break down complex concepts, analyze primary and secondary sources, and construct clear, evidence-based arguments. My approach emphasizes understanding how political systems work rather than relying solely on memorization.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I earned a 760 on SAT Math and have mathematics tutoring experience through the Russian School of Mathematics, Milton Academy, and LiftED Tutoring. I help students strengthen mathematical reasoning by breaking complex problems into manageable steps and identifying patterns across question types. I focus on efficient problem-solving, pacing, strategic use of tools such as Desmos, and understanding concepts rather than memorizing procedures. My goal is to help students build both the skills and confidence to approach unfamiliar SAT Math questions independently.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I earned a 750 on SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and have extensive experience tutoring reading through LiftED Tutoring and my other teaching experiences. I help students improve reading comprehension, identify main ideas and supporting evidence, analyze passages, and recognize patterns in question types. I focus on efficient passage analysis, eliminating incorrect answers, and using evidence from the text to make confident choices. My goal is to help students develop reliable strategies while strengthening their overall reading skills.
SSAT

SSAT

I scored in the 99th percentile on the SSAT and have 4+ years of experience tutoring students in elementary, middle, and high school. I help students strengthen the reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning skills tested on the SSAT while developing effective pacing and test-taking strategies. I focus on identifying patterns in missed questions, targeting individual weaknesses, and teaching students how to approach different question types efficiently. My goal is to build both strong test performance and the underlying academic skills students need to succeed.
United States History

United States History

I self-studied for and earned a 5 on the AP U.S. Government exam and received Winsor’s Frances Dorwin Dugan Prize for excellence in History for doing very well in seven history courses and demonstrating an interest in world affairs. I also served as Head History Peer Tutor at The Winsor School and have experience tutoring U.S. History through my LiftED tutoring program. I help students understand historical context, chronology, cause and effect, analyze primary and secondary sources, and construct clear, evidence-based arguments. My approach emphasizes both strong content knowledge and the analytical skills needed for success in history courses and exams.
World History

World History

I am a recipient of Winsor’s Frances Dorwin Dugan Prize for excellence in History, taught World History for my nonprofit tutoring program, and have served as Head History Peer Tutor at The Winsor School. I have extensive experience helping students understand historical context, connect events across regions and time periods, and analyze primary and secondary sources. I teach students to identify patterns, understand cause and effect, and construct clear, evidence-based arguments rather than relying solely on memorization. My approach emphasizes both strong foundational knowledge and the analytical skills needed to succeed in history courses and exams.
Writing

Writing

I earned a 750 on SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 5s on both AP English Language and AP English Literature. I have tutored students across elementary, middle, and high school in English. I help students strengthen grammar, reading comprehension, rhetorical analysis, evidence use, and written expression. My goal is to help students build reliable strategies while developing the underlying writing skills needed for long-term success.
