I’m Diana! I am writer and educator with experience teaching English, essay writing, and creative writing to various grade levels ranging from middle school to graduate. I have taught 8th Grade English, developed curriculum for creative writing programs, and assisted in teaching college-level literature and English composition courses. I received my MFA in Creative Writing and my BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing.

I specialize in helping clients through all stages of the writing process from research and thesis conception to structure, idea-development, clarity, and formatting. I can assist with all types of academic and professional writing such as research papers, argumentative essays, literary analysis essays, and college application essays. Outside of academic writing, I also specialize in creative writing support for personal essays, short fiction, and novels. I can help brainstorm, develop outlines, and set effective deadlines, as well as provide thorough written critiques for drafted work, regardless of a client’s experience level.

Tutoring provides an opportunity to create lessons that cater to the unique needs of each learner. For academic writing, the initial step is to break down the assignment prompt and guidelines in order to clarify expectations. We will examine thesis, structure, synthesis of ideas, and how to effectively incorporate evidence and analysis into each paragraph. By breaking up the writing process into manageable parts, we will develop writing skills that will support a client through college. For creative work, I implement workshop-style feedback as well as brainstorming and outlining sessions. My goal as a tutor is to work with you to create unique lessons that support individual needs and learning styles.
