Patient and intuitive
Gudrun is an excellent teacher because she affords her students grace, checks in to make sure lessons are meeting their language goals, and keeps conversation rolling smoothly. As a new German speaker, it can be painful to sit in the silence when I don't understand a question or I can't think of the correct word, but Gudrun balances beautifully when it comes to knowing whether she should intervene or be patient and wait.

Gudrun is So Much Fun
I studied German in the past but grew very rusty, so much so that I was uncomfortable even to try speaking it! But Gudrun makes it okay to try, even if it isn't perfect German. As we have gone along in our classes together, I've grown confident and willing to risk saying things that come to mind. It is fun because she is patient and corrects when necessary but not all the time. She's a great teacher!

She is a great, experienced teacher and my eight year old son liked her from the first minute. He is refreshing his German by practicing conversation and learning new words but most important, Gudrun makes the class enjoyable. My son is already looking forward to his next German lesson next week.

Wonderful teacher!
Gudrun is a wonderful teacher. I am a beginning student in German and she is patient with all my questions. I believe that Gudrun loves to teach, and as a student, it makes me excited to learn. I have taken three other languages, but only in a group class environment, where you can only move as fast as the slowest learner, and concepts already grasped are often repeated over and over for the sake of another student. I have learned more in two weeks with Gudrun than I would have in two months of group classes. She is a very professional and relatable teacher, with vast experience in different learning styles, and she offers a wide variety of course materials. I believe whether you are a beginning or advanced student, studying only with Gudrun or being tutored for some extra help, her lessons will prove invaluable. I have several friends who are fluent in German and her lessons have already led me to questions they can't help me with. Most important, she keeps learning enjoyable. I wake up in a good mood when it's the day for German tutoring, and leave energized and excited to go home and study. Gudrun's background in education speaks for itself, but if you wind up with an educated teacher who makes everything a chore, it doesn't matter how much they know - you won't want to be there. I can tell that Gudrun loves what she teaches, and has a deep interest in helping people meet their goals. I am looking forward to continuing on, and learning as much as possible from the opportunities Gudrun presents.

Great Tutor
Gudrun S. is a great tutor. She taught me a lot, like present and past tense and also contrast. There was a long time that I didn't write and I forgot some simple things in my writing skills, but she always reminded me and I learned a lot.
