Hello! My name is Mark P., and I am currently an undergraduate at Harvard University studying Chemistry, Physics, and Materials Engineering, with a secondary focus in Mathematical Sciences. Thus far, I have excelled in a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, special relativity, electrical engineering, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.

I’m also actively involved in research with two research labs. One lab, in collaboration with Harvard University, Massachusetts General Brigham, and Seoul National University, focuses on chemical reservoir computing, where I design reaction mechanisms to perform computations and identify patterns in complex physical systems operating near the edge of chaos. My second research area is in soft condensed matter physics, with a focus on NMR and serpentinization, allowing me to apply both theoretical and experimental approaches.

I have several years of tutoring experience working primarily in one-on-one settings with students ranging from 3rd to 12th grade. While I focus mainly on science subjects, I have also helped students prepare for standardized tests such as the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. In addition to individualized tutoring, I have led structured review sessions for multivariable calculus as well as AP Physics 2 and AP Physics C, giving me experience teaching both individuals and larger groups. My approach emphasizes understanding through practice and critical thinking. I typically begin sessions by assessing a student’s current understanding with targeted questions, followed by brief conceptual explanations to build a strong foundation. I then guide students through practice problems, helping them develop problem-solving intuition and confidence. I believe that with the right mindset and structured approach, most problems become manageable, and I aim to equip students with the tools they need to think independently and succeed academically.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I have tutored for the SAT and ACT Math sections in the past, helping students improve by 100-200 points (SAT) or 1-8 points (ACT) in less than a month of preparation. I obtained perfect scores on the SAT, PSAT, and ACT math sections.
AMC (Competition math)

AMC (Competition math)

I am currently a Harvard student with a secondary concentration in mathematics. As a student, I have excelled in proof-based linear algebra and multivariable calculus. I am also one of the directions for the Harvard MIT Math Tournament where I carry out many duties, including writing, testing, and solving competition questions spanning geometry, number theory, probability, etc. I have also taken and performed highly on the AMC 10 and 12 in the past.
Physical Science

Physical Science

I did Regeneron STS when I was in high school. My marine biology project won top 300 at Regeneron. I have since helped around 15-20 other students prepare for Regeneron, with most of them getting top 300 or top 40 finishes.
Physics

Physics

I am currently a physics major taking PhD level physics courses at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I also do physics research for 3 different labs.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have tutored for the SAT Math section in the past, helping students improve by 100-200 points in less than a month of preparation. I obtained perfect scores on both the SAT and PSAT math sections.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

In the past, I have taken both undergraduate and graduate level courses in statistical mechanics and thermodynamics at Harvard University. I have also conducted research for the past year on thermodynamics under the mentorship of Professors at Harvard University, Seoul National University, and Rice University. I am currently doing thermodynamics research with association with Rice University, where I am simulating and quantitatively understanding the thermodynamics behind multiple chemical reaction mechanisms that I designed.
