Hi! My name is Bella Buonaugurio, and I am currently a special education teacher in a language-based classroom, as well as a dedicated tutor with experience supporting learners from kindergarten through adulthood. I am Orton-Gillingham trained and in the process of completing the full certification program.
I graduated from Salve Regina University in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education, earning a 3.95 GPA in the Pell Honors Program. Throughout my time at Salve, I gained hands-on teaching experience with students from 1st through 6th grade. I also worked in Salve’s tutoring center, where I supported college students in writing and a wide range of academic subjects including psychology, history, mathematics, and French.
By my junior year, I became a Peer Academic Coach, helping students strengthen time management, study skills, and test preparation—especially for exams like the PRAXIS and MTEL. This quickly became one of my favorite roles, as I loved watching students grow in confidence and independence. In 2023, I was promoted to Head Tutor due to my commitment and passion for helping learners thrive.
I also passed all of my PRAXIS and MTEL exams with strong scores and effective study habits, so I am especially interested in supporting students preparing for these assessments, knowing how stressful they can be.
I believe my determination, experience, and strong instructional background make me well qualified to help any student succeed. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
