Hi there! I am an experienced high school teacher in Biology, AP Biology, Environmental Science and other life science courses. I have two years of experience teaching AP Biology, and three years of experience teaching biology to ninth graders. I greatly enjoy teaching and mentoring students who want to gain a better understanding of biology and life sciences, as well as those who want to improve their grades.
My undergraduate coursework was a pre-veterinary track at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, a leading institution for agricultural and life sciences. I hold a Masters of Science in Nutrition with a specialty focus on agriculture, food and environmental science and policy.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for nearly a decade implementing natural disaster relief programs authorized by the federal farm bill at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. I also have two years of experience performing microbiology and molecular biology research in a lab at the Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The lab I worked in studied bacterial pathogenesis of Yersinia species (the causative agent of The Plague). I am therefore very comfortable with lab activities and lab prep/reports.
I look forward to connecting with you!
